Groundbreaking Documentary, Liquid Assets, to Air on Access Monterey Peninsula

During Water Awareness Month, California American Water invites the local community to learn more about the nation's essential water infrastructure systems

PACIFIC GROVE, Calif., May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- California American Water encourages local residents and policymakers to watch "Liquid Assets: The Story of Our Water Infrastructure," which will run in May, also Water Awareness Month, on Access Monterey Peninsula Channel 24. The documentary will be broadcast Thursday, May 14th at 2:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 16th at 4:30 p.m.

The award-winning documentary, produced by Penn State Public Broadcasting (WPSU-TV), tells the story of drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure. These complex and aging systems -- some in the ground for more than 100 years -- are critical for basic sanitation, public safety, economic development, and a host of other necessities of life.

Access Monterey Peninsula plans to add more broadcast times through the remainder of year.

"Liquid Assets" is a production of WPSU, Penn State Public Broadcasting. Major funding for the "Liquid Assets" documentary was provided by the Colcom Foundation, with additional funding from the Associated General Contractors of America, the American Society of Civil Engineers and its Environmental & Water Resources Institute, Insituform Technologies, and the National Association of Clean Water Agencies.
