WASHINGTON, April 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- From three of the world's most famous cathedrals and churches, this year's British Choir Festival features some of the most glorious choral music in the western world. Don't miss this rare opportunity to hear these three spectacular choirs in the magnificent setting that is Washington National Cathedral.

Hailing from Canterbury Cathedral, the Canterbury Cathedral Choir makes a vital contribution to the tradition which has continued there for over 1400 years. Enjoying one of the longest-established musical foundations in the world, the Choir is involved in all the special events which take place in Canterbury Cathedral and makes recordings, broadcasts and concert appearances on a regular basis.

The Choir of Saint Thomas Church is considered by many to be one of the leading ensembles in the Anglican choral tradition in the United States. The Choir performs regularly with the period instruments ensemble, Concert Royal, and with the Orchestra of St. Luke's as part of its own concert series, yet its primary role is providing music for five choral services each week in the Church.

Washington National Cathedral has been offering daily sung worship since its inception in 1907. The Cathedral now has two teams of choristers, 20 boys and 20 girls who share the liturgical responsibilities. Along with the team of 18 professional altos, tenors and basses, the senior choristers from both choirs join to form the Choir of Washington National Cathedral.
