Keep Your Eyes Wide Open...Game Crazy has 5 Tickets to Terror

Retailer Celebrates Resident Evil 5 Launch with Opportunity to Visit One of the World's Scariest Places

WILSONVILLE, Ore., March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Be sure your routine vaccinations are up-to-date before traveling. To celebrate the highly anticipated release of Resident Evil 5, national video game retailer Game Crazy is hosting frighteningly fantastic midnight launch events on March 12 (8:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.). Five lucky customers who purchase Resident Evil 5 at Game Crazy will find a "T-Virus" icon inside the game box, indicating they have won a trip to one of the most terrifying places in the world, Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, KY.

"As an avid gamer myself, I was instantly blown away by the meticulous attention to detail made possible by Capcom's new in-game engine. From the first teaser trailer through impending launch, we were certain that Resident Evil 5 would be one of the top games in 2009. In turn, we wanted to create a product launch in our stores that would add another element of excitement and intrigue to this highly anticipated game," said Dave Hulegaard, Manager of Retail Sales. "We took one of the games most prominent icons, the 'T-Virus,' and hid it in five games that can only be purchased at Game Crazy. Finding the 'T-Virus' will guarantee the most frightening night of your life."

Timid Gamers ... Beware

Bringing to life the fear evoked in the Resident Evil 5 game, and the symbolic "T-Virus," Game Crazy has created a Resident Evil contest. Five lucky customers who purchase their games from Game Crazy will uncover a "T-Virus" icon inside the package. This ticket grants the recipient and one guest a fright-filled trip to the Waverly Hills Sanatorium July 11-12th. There will also be five "T-Virus" icons found in Resident Evil 5 game boxes purchased at Game Zones in Hollywood Video and Movie Gallery stores. Those winners will receive one year's worth of free video game and movie rentals.

Waverly Hills Sanatorium

Waverly functioned as a tuberculosis hospital until 1961, when it was closed down to be quarantined and renovated to be opened again in 1962 as WoodHaven Medical Services. The facility remained a geriatrics center until 1980, when it was closed by the state for alleged patient abuse. The facility has been popularized on television as being one of the "most haunted" hospitals in the eastern United States, and was seen on ABC/FOX Family Channel's Scariest Places On Earth as well as VH1's Celebrity Paranormal Project.

Zombies in Africa

Resident Evil 5 is the highly anticipated forthcoming installment in the Resident Evil survival horror video game series, debuting for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game will feature similar gameplay to Resident Evil 4, with the player controlling Chris Redfield, similarly to how the player controlled Leon S. Kennedy. Fans can also expect new types of enemies including hordes of fleet-footed enemies, who possess melee weapons.
