Hastings Entertainment to Host Twilight Midnight Release Parties

AMARILLO, Texas, March 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hastings Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAST) - Discover Your Entertainment, a chain of 153 multi-media home entertainment stores, today announced its plans for chain-wide midnight parties surrounding the release of the hit box office movie, Twilight on DVD. Festivities for the midnight release parties will take place starting at 10:00 pm the night of March 20, and will end after the movie goes on sale at Midnight.

Adapted from the bestselling teen book series by Stephenie Meyer, Hastings will carry the 2-Disc special edition of the movie and plans to load the evening with in-house activities sure to keep loyal Twilight fans in suspense until the midnight release. Select stores plan to have blood drives in honor of vampire tradition, prom-themed events based on the book and costume contests. Answering trivia questions from the book and movie will give customers a chance to win Hastings prizes, and a special sale on all used books, movies, CDs and video games for the two hours leading up to midnight will take place. Fans can also enjoy specialty drinks from the Hastings Hardback Coffee Cafe, named for rivals Team Edward and Team Jacob.

As Twilighters continue to anticipate what's expected to be one of the biggest releases of 2009, they can reserve a copy of the 2-Disc special edition for $5 at Hastings until close of business on March 19, 2009.
