The Dream Factory and 3DFF Bring Leading 3-D Purveyors Together for the Las Vegas Edition of the 3-D Film & Interactive Festival March 27th to April 4th

DLP(R) Cinema, NVIDIA, Mitsubishi, Real D, VIU, Alienware, DDD, In Three, XpanD, and 3ality Digital join forces to present the 3D Film & Interactive Festival Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS, March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Dream Factory Studio, the visionary force behind the world's first touring 3-D Film & Interactive Festival initiative (3DFF), continued to evangelize on behalf of leading 3-D digital display, technology and interactive content companies with the debut of "3DFF Las Vegas," which will run March 27th through April 4th, 2009 in Sin City.

Hosted by Rave Motion Pictures' 18 Town Square and Planet Hollywood's "The Living Room," the program will be presented by DLP/Texas Instruments, Real D, NVIDIA, and 3ality Digital, with technology and content support from Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, Deluxe, Efilm, UVPH, CGI Studios, DDD, Brain Paint, In Three, APCO, PassmoreLabs, Vortex Immersion, Alienware, XpanD, 3opolis Pictures, and The Kerner Company.

The Festival will kick off on Friday, March 27th at 7pm PDT with a VIP screening of 3DFF's continually updated 3-D short compilation program entitled "3ology: The Art and Science of the 3rd Dimension," powered by DLP Cinema(R) projection technology, which makes its return to theaters with exclusive showings at Rave Motion Pictures' 18 Town Square. The program will be presented in RealD 3D and will be offered as a complimentary double feature for all Rave ticket holders through April 2nd. The first 250 people to see the film will receive a complimentary gift bag presented by Viewmaster(R).

3DFF will host its Opening Night Gala directly following 3ology at Planet Hollywood's "The Living Room" Nightclub, the first fully functioning 3D nightclub installation on the Las Vegas Strip. 3D VIP and invited guests of 3DFF will be one of the first to experience Dream Factory's newly re-designed 3-D Dance Floor Exhibit, which was a huge hit at this year's Sundance Film Festival where more than 20,000 people rocked out to live 3-D performances by David Archuleta, David Osmond, Three 6 Mafia, Alyssa Suede, The High School Musical Dancers, and DJ Melenik.

The Dream Factory and its global partners aim to shine the spotlight on up and coming independent 3-D directors and emerging technologies by showcasing a content program comprised of both independently produced and studio supported 3-D content and interactive technology demonstrations.

Later this year, 3DFF will host programs in New York, Palm Springs (Coachella), Cannes, Toronto, and Los Angeles. 3DFF is also a founding sponsor of the newly formed 3-D Academy of Stereoscopic Arts & Sciences (www.the3Dacademy.com), which is working to establish a 3-D Filmmaker's Lab that will host live webinars and educational programs in association with the festival throughout 2009.
