Ticketmaster Entertainment's Ticketweb Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary
LONDON, February 5/PRNewswire/ -- TicketWeb, a Ticketmaster Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ:TKTM) operating business, is proud to celebrate 10 years as the UK's leading self-service, fully functioned box office service.
In 1999 TicketWeb began with a team of eight above a venue in Brixton and introduced self service ticketing to the UK market place with an alternative hands on approach to managing ticketing needs. Originally launched in the UK as a box office technology provider to the then McKenzie Group owned Brixton Academy and Shepherds Bush Empire, TicketWeb continued to grow and develop in its independence. Ten years later, TicketWeb is now one of the leading ticket agencies in the UK. Importantly TicketWeb has maintained a close working relationship with its original client what has now become the Academy Music Group, together with an ever increasing client list across the UK entertainment sector.
The self-service functionality and versatile client branded online ticketing service that worked successfully with the McKenzie Group quickly found a wider client base. Acquired by Ticketmaster in May 2000, the TicketWeb team have maintained the original business plan of providing keen service charges in an often lower face value ticket market whilst embracing the wider technological and marketing advantages that its parent company Ticketmaster provides. TicketWeb now offers clients a 24-hour phone sales facility and access control systems in the form of eEntry or AccessManager. TicketWeb also provides TicketFast, the print-at-home ticket delivery solution; MailManager, the online email marketing tool; Mobile Ticket purchase, the client branded WAP service; and a sophisticated marketing and distribution reach to a customer database of millions.
TicketWeb would like to thank its many clients, in particular; Fabric, The Halfmoon Putney, Avalon, DMP Promotions, Fabric, Hooch, Hoxton Pimps, the Leadmill, Montana Concerts, Metropolis Music, Plum Promotions, the Scala, Serious and the Underworld in Camden, who all sold tickets, some for the first time, through the original TicketWeb platform back in 1999 and continue to do so in 2009.
Chris Edmonds, Managing Director of TicketWeb and Ticketmaster, said, "We are delighted to be celebrating the 10 year anniversary of TicketWeb in 2009. We would like to thank our many clients for their amazing support over the years and we look forward to delivering a further 10 years of innovative service. The TicketWeb team has every right to be proud of their achievements"
