Launch Event for Norbertine Fathers' Gregorian Chant CD: Royalties to Help Build Needed New Abbey

    WHAT:        Launch event for the February 10 Jade Music CD release,                Anthology: Chants and Polyphony from St. Michael's                Abbey, Gregorian Chant sung by the Norbertine Fathers of                St. Michael's.  The musical evening, taking place at St.                Michael's Abbey where the CD was recorded, features song                selections sung by the choir, an address by Abbot Eugene                Hayes, in addition to a private reception to follow.    BACKGROUND:  The Norbertine Fathers of St. Michael's are raising                funds, through their recordings and public outreach, to                enable them to relocate and build a new Abbey.  They must                find a new location to house their community.  It has                been discovered that the Abbey buildings, including a                private boys' preparatory school, are located on                geologically unstable ground.  All royalties received by                St. Michael's Abbey from their recordings are donated to                St. Michael's Abbey Expansion Project, a major fund-                raising effort to finance the construction of a new                Abbey, preparatory school and housing facilities.
