Cox Presents an Array of Exciting Black History Month Activities in February and Beyond

CHESAPEAKE, Va., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- At Cox Communications, African-American and other multicultural recognition activities do not happen just once a year. These efforts are part of the fabric of the company and its culture. So it is no surprise that for Black History Month, Cox is offering an extensive set of events and activities in support of Black History Month 2009. They are as follows:

   February 23             Cox, HBO and the Urban League of Hampton roads                           will host the Virginia premiere of HBO's Black                           List at Chrysler Hall. April 2009              Cox is partnering with the Urban League of                           Hampton roads for its 19th Annual Whitney m.                           Young Dinner. At the dinner, Cox will premiere of                           premiere viewing of "Hampton Roads Black List.                           "Hampton Roads Black List" is a locally-produced                           documentary that showcases African-Americans who                           are "firsts" and/or "barrier breakers" in the                           areas of health, human services, education,                           sports, as well as a number of other areas.                           Participants were selected by the Urban League                           of Hampton Roads, Inc. "Hampton Roads Black List"                           comes on the heels of the February 23 Virginia                           premiere of the HBO's "Black List Volume II," and                           localizes the theme utilized in that documentary.    May 2009                Hampton Roads Black List, Cox Channel 11: In May                           look for the Hampton Roads Black List featuring                           local African Americans who have broke throughout                           barriers to accomplish great things.
