This recent study shows that 34% of men selected Russell Crowe's character Maximus in the film Gladiator as their favorite Academy Award(R) hero. The survey, conducted by Harris Interactive(R) on behalf of Chivas Regal, polled over 1,100 U.S. adult men.
Second and third place honors go to portrayals of real-life characters. Tom Hanks' depiction of Jim Lovell in Apollo 13 takes the second place spot with 32% of male votes and Julia Roberts' Erin Brockovich was ranked third with 30% of male votes.
"An Academy Award(R) nominated hero sets the standard for screen writing and acting, just as Chivas Regal(R) 25 sets the standard for master blending for all other Scotch Whiskies," said Nikki Burgess, International Marketing Manager, Chivas Brothers Ltd.
