Teen Pop Star Chantel 'Chani' Christie Nominated for 2009 Martin Luther King County Jr. Executives Awards for Excellence in Hip-Hop at MUSICA Festival
Chantel 'Chani' Christie also set to Perform In Her Native City
SEATTLE, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Chantel "Chani" Christie, daughter of NBA power couple, Doug and Jackie Christie, has been announced as one of the headlining acts for the January 17, 2009 Martin Luther King County Jr. Executives Awards for Excellence in Hip-Hop at MUSICA Festival. In addition to the festival she will also perform at the 37th Legislative District Democratic Inauguration Celebration for President Elect Barack Obama following the event.
Through Hip-Hop, the event seeks to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by showcasing artists' voices and talents. Chani Christie has been nominated as one of the ten finalists to receive the prestigious Hip-Hop Award and is one of the many talented artists slated to perform at the Columbia City Theater. Additional Jean Rah Fya Records recording artists Popular Teen group Small Change and R&B sensation Bobby Tinsely are also scheduled to be featured during Chani's performances.
Chantel "Chani" Christie, the YMCA Youth Spokesperson, continues to reach the youth through her music. Chani is also making a difference with her ambassadorship as the United States youth ambassador for HIV/AIDS. The teen pop sensation has a passion to lead youth across the world to follow their dreams.
