NEP Broadcasting Rolls Out a New HD Mobile Unit
One of Many Upgrades to the Nations Largest Mobile Unit Fleet
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- NEP Broadcasting, the premiere provider of outsourced teleproduction services announces the release of Supershooter 18, a state of the art High Definition Television Production Truck joins the nation's largest, most advanced mobile unit fleet. SS18 features a Grass Valley Kalypso switcher, DVEous, Thomson LDK-8000 World Cams, Canon Lenses, Calrec Sigma digital Audio Console and EVS XT2 servers. The new SS18 incorporates the Harris Centrio multi-viewer to create virtual monitor walls throughout the truck.

SS18 is designed for rapid setup with total recall functionality in Production, Audio and the Record Replay Area and incorporates the unique back to back Record Replay room design allowing for seven operators along with easy in and out access. SS18 is self-contained unit that does not require a B unit for operation or gear transport. This new unit will debut at the NHL All Star Game in Montreal, Canada on January 25, 2009, and will be one of the primary mobile units being used by Turner Sports for their coverage of the NBA season and MLB playoffs.

SS18 was built at NEP Broadcasting's Systems Integration in Pittsburgh. This state-of-the-art facility allows NEP to develop and build custom solutions for their clients specific broadcasting needs, as well as maintain their fleet of 91 Production and Support Trailers.
This new Mobile Unit is part of a wider fleet revamp that includes several new units and upgrades to many others:
SS17 - A new addition to the NEP Supershooters fleet that features a Grass Valley Kalypso DUO Swither, DVEous, Ikegami HDK-79EC HD cams, Canon lenses, a Calrec Sigma Digital Console with BlueFin, EVS XT2 Servers and virtual monitor walls throughout. SS17 is HBO's primary Mobile Unit for Boxing and has done NBA basketball, World Series and The Ryder Cup.
Summit - This New HD Twin in the NEP Denali fleet features a Grass Valley Kalypso Duo Switcher, virtual monitor walls, Sony HDC 1500 Cameras, and an extensive audio room that houses a Calrec Alpha Audio Console with BlueFin. With the flexibility to handle both major sports and major entertainment events, Summit has covered such major events as The Emmy's, Major League Baseball Playoffs, The Country Music Awards, Wheel of Fortune and most recently The Inaugural Concert broadcast live from the Lincoln Memorial.
ESU - This repackaged support unit in the NEP Supershooters fleet is designed and equipped to handle the comprehensive signal distribution needs of large international events. It is able to take HD or SD feeds in all known formats, with audio distribution and conversion that can handle analog, AES, Cobranet and MADI, with incorporated audio and video delays to ensure lip synch integrity. In addition, ESU has flexible work areas with full monitoring that can be used for web-casting, editing, super motion, commercial insertion, quality control or other applications. ESU debuts at this year's Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida.
SS28 - This upgraded HD Mobile Unit in the NEP Supershooters fleet features a Grass Valley Kalypso Switcher, DVEous, Thompson LDK6000 HD cams, EVS XT2 servers, an extensive audio capability including a Calrec Sigma Audio Console with BlueFin, and virtual monitor walls throughout. SS28 covers the NFL on Fox, with big show capabilities ranging from NBA and NHL playoffs to the Super Bowl.
SS20 - This upgraded HD Mobile Unit in the NEP Supershooters fleet, planned to roll in 2009, features a Grass Valley Kalypso switcher, DVEous, Thompson LDK-8000 World Cams, Canon Lenses, Calrec Sigma digital Audio Console, EVS XT2 servers and virtual monitor walls throughout.
