Plymouth Rock Studios Ensemble Cast Weathers Blizzard

PLYMOUTH, Mass., Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Plymouth Rock Studios brought forth its first cast featuring thirteen notable stars. They were not your typical celebrities, but 5 feet by 3 feet earth-friendly letters that spelled out "Hollywood East" on the hillside of the Waverly Oaks Golf Club in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Despite the blizzard conditions of the nation's first major snow storm, the eco-friendly Hollywood East sign made of snow, ice and dragon board withstood the conditions for three days, proving that a work of art can be environmentally friendly as well as strong.

"It was a chance for the Hollywood East sign to come play in the snow," said Steven Taylor, Artist in Residence at the studio. "The sign is made from renewable materials and it worked seamlessly with the natural environment."

Plymouth Rock Studios licensed the rights to the iconic Hollywood sign from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in the spring of 2008. "We love all the great things that Hollywood represents - art, games, movies, television, music, and fashion. What we hope to bring forward in New England is 'Hollywood 2.0,'" said David Kirkpatrick, co-founder of Plymouth Rock Studios. "Hollywood 2.0 is dedicated to sustainable environments. Hollywood 2.0 is dedicated to technology creating a better world. To us, Hollywood 2.0 is Hollywood East."

Plymouth Rock Studios plans to create more celebratory, eco friendly Hollywood East signs over the next months prior to its opening in fall of 2010. "We hope that from rain to shine, to planting to harvest, the sign will come to be a representation of our keen interest and love for the environment," said Steven Taylor.
