MTV Networks International Names Veteran Music and Talent Executive Bruce Gillmer Senior Vice President of Talent and Music
NEW YORK, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- MTV Networks International (MTVNI), owned by Viacom Inc. (NYSE:VIA) (NYSE:VIA.B) , has named Bruce Gillmer as Senior Vice President of Talent and Music for MTVNI. A 21-year veteran of MTV Networks, Gillmer will continue to be based in New York and oversee all international talent and music initiatives across MTVNI. The announcement was made by Antonio Campo Dall'Orto, Executive Vice President of Music Brands and Managing Director of Europe South, to whom Mr. Gillmer reports. Prior to his appointment, Gillmer served as Senior Vice President of Music/Music Programming for MTV Networks in the U.S.

In his new role, Gillmer will be responsible for forging and maintaining vital relationships within the international music industry and leveraging MTVNI's unique global scale to deliver talent for regional and world-wide events, awards shows, and international programming priorities. He will oversee the International Music and Talent teams in London and New York, and work closely with MTVNI's regional music and programming executives to realize their international talent and talent-driven programming needs. In addition, working with Richard Godfrey, executive producer of the 2008 MTV Europe Awards (EMA), Gillmer will be responsible for all talent related aspects of the show. The annual MTVNI pan-Euro event will take place on November 6th in Liverpool, England.

Gillmer most recently held the position of Senior Vice President of Music/Music Programming for MTVN in the U.S. At MTVN, Gillmer supported the efforts of MTVNI, CMT, Spike, and Comedy Central, working on a wide variety of shows and events such as Spike's Video Game Awards and Guy's Choice Awards, CMT's Giants and several CMT Crossroads episodes as well as Comedy Central's "An Evening of Too Many Stars". In addition, Gillmer played a major role in the launch of MTV Arabia. He was involved in the production of multiple hit series and events, including Yo! MTV Raps, The Jon Stewart Show, and past MTV Video Music Awards. Prior to MTVN, Gillmer was Senior Vice President of Music and Talent Relations for VH1 where he oversaw the Music and Talent department and lead on all of the departments' music initiatives. Gillmer was also deeply involved with the development and production of VH1 DIVAS LIVE, VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards, The Concert for New York City and a wide variety of other hit series, shows and events.
Gillmer graduated from Indiana State University with a B.S. in Music and Marketing.
