'Find Yourself a Dream' Wins Emmy

CHICAGO, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- "Find Yourself A Dream -- The Bob Love Story," a documentary about Bob "Butterbean" Love and his struggle to overcome his stuttering disability, has won an Emmy in the category Outstanding Achievement for a Documentary Program. The announcement was made on Saturday, October 18, 2008 by the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at their 50th Annual Chicago Midwest Emmy Awards ceremony.

The award winning feature was directed by Jim White. It was produced by Jim White, Steve Kennedy, and John Bernin. Executive producers were Jay Rizzo, Bob Love, Abe Thompson, and Steve Toll.

"Find Yourself A Dream" had its broadcast premier on WYCC Chicago TV20 on Thursday, April 17, 2008. It initially premiered at the Gene Siskel Film Center and has been shown at numerous film festivals since then. It was the recipient of the 2007 First Place Media Award of the Stuttering Foundation.

Jim White was also recently honored with the TV-OP/TV ONE Grand Jury Award for Best Documentary at the 2008 TV-OP Festival on September 20, 2008.

In addition to his awards for "Find Yourself A Dream," Jim White's screenplay, "Butterbean," (which is based on Bob Love's life-affirming story) was selected as one of the top two screenplays at the prestigious Beverly Hills Film Festival in the Festival's Golden Palm Screenplay competition. "Butterbean," which was chosen from among 70 finalists out of over 1000 screenplays that were submitted to the competition, will be made into a feature film.

"Butterbean" is being produced by America's Film Fund and Chicago Capital Entertainment Group in collaboration with The Sports Studio. It is expected to be released in late 2009 or early 2010. Mark Ellis (whose credits include 'Semi-Pro,' 'The Game Plan,' 'We Are Marshall,' 'Invincible,' 'The Longest Yard,' 'Coach Carter,' 'Any Given Sunday,' 'Miracle,' 'The Replacements,' and 'The Rookie') is set to direct.

Bob Love led the Chicago Bulls in scoring for seven straight seasons with a total of 12,623 points. He was an NBA All-Star in 1971, 1972, and 1973 ... All-NBA Second Team 1970-71, and 1971-72 ... NBA All-Defensive Second Team 1971-72, 1973-74, and 1974-75. Many of his records were only finally surpassed by Michael Jordan.

Today, as Director of Community Affairs for the Chicago Bulls, Bob Love makes over three hundred appearances each year, and he speaks to over 250,000 young people and their parents about the importance of staying in school, getting an education, perseverance over adversity, and achieving one's dreams.

Bob Love's Jersey, #10, was officially retired on January 14, 1994.
