Center City Film & Video Wins Emmy for Bono Tribute Featuring George Clooney
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Center City Film & Video (www.ccfv.com) has won a prestigious 2008 Mid Atlantic Emmy for a documentary shown on ABC-TV during the opening ceremony of the National Constitution Center's 2007 Liberty Medal Awards honoring Bono and DATA.
Narrated by George Clooney, the video focused on the rock star's work with the advocacy group DATA and their achievements toward ending poverty and AIDS in Africa. CCFV was commissioned by the National Constitution Center to create the piece, which described Bono and the group's work in raising public awareness and securing billions of dollars in relief pledges and debt cancellation for poor countries. Other Liberty Medal recipients have included Presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush, Nelson Mandela, Hamid Karzai and Mikhail Gorbachev.
CCFV is Philadelphia's largest and longest operating production facility, currently celebrating its 30th year. Its production team for the Bono video was headed by Executive Vice President Brian Isley, who directed, producer Glen Zeigler, writer Abby Sahula and editor Greg Vermette.
