Cow's Blood, Bible & Madonna: The New Controversial Pop Art

Cow's Blood, Bible & Madonna: The New Controversial Pop Art

LONDON, August 7/PRNewswire/ -- A controversial series of paintings consisting of cow's blood, the Bible and Madonna is to be unveiled as part of an art exhibition to celebrate Madonna's 50th birthday by artist, Rush Vizette in Red Gate Gallery, London this Friday.

"This show 'Madonna: Mother Of The Universe' aims to pay homage to the world's biggest and most controversial icon in a no holds barred attitude to idealise her edgy and her extreme individual self," said artist Rush Vizette whose 16 paintings include some of the most bizarre objects ever put together. Condom, cow blood, cigarettes, graffiti and the Bible are mixed throughout the entire series.

The main piece named, "Bloody Madonna" measures 2.5 metres by 2.5 metres depicts an aggressive look on Madonna's face painted with a cow's blood dripping effect on a Bible. "No animal was hurt during the making of this show!" said the 32-year-old Thai artist.

Sexual politics, religion and a sense of rebelliousness are portrayed through a portrait series of paintings, photographs, installations and multimedia described as 'The Post Pop Art' by the artist group 'The NuBrits'.

"Think Andy Warhol meets Damien Hirst on a subject as unique and complex as Madonna," says Rush Vizette.

The exhibition will be held this Friday, the month of her 50th birthday and the group is also intending to have a special opening night on her actual birthday.
