GigMaven Levels the Playing Field for Artists and Venues

GigMaven Levels the Playing Field for Artists and Venues

Newly Launched Web Service Enables Friction-Less Touring

NEW YORK, July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- GigMaven, a web-based service that enables musical artists to find and book gigs online, has announced the Beta launch of their site, available at http://www.gigmaven.com/. With over five hundred artists already signed on and a roster of some of the best-loved venues in Brooklyn, Boston, Columbus, and New York City, GigMaven is poised to super-charge local music scenes from coast to coast. The rapid growth of GigMaven has seen a 60% month by month growth of registered musicians this June, which is a 500% increase since its launch February.

The site, who's easy to navigate front-end belies a complex code base, is free to all musical artists, who can create profiles (or import them from their MySpace pages), post their music, and peruse open slots. Conversely, club owners and music bookers can list availabilities and search for the ideal artist to complete a multi-act night. While a raft of 'Software as a Service' (SASS) sites have launched to enable artists to market themselves and sell their own music, GigMaven is the first purpose-built destination that takes the endless emailing and cat-and-mouse phone calls out of booking gigs at small- and medium-sized clubs.

"It was excellent for me to be able to book a last minute gig at a good venue," raves GigMaven musician Lauren Flaherty, "and the venue manager told me how happy he was that I was able to take the slot on such short notice." Jake Silver of Pete's Candy Store in New York City as the venue's booker also praised the site and his experience using GigMaven as a way to book artists, "I love the website so far, as a booker, I'm constantly doing the same repetitive tasks, so I'm always looking for ways to improve workflow."

C.E.O Howard Han adds that, "GigMaven helps musicians and live music venues find each other in a fast and efficient manner. We want to help musicians and venues and ultimately make their lives easier."
