Gig Junkie Tent at ZOO8 Festival in Kent Proves Top Showcase for New Talent

Gig Junkie Tent at ZOO8 Festival in Kent Proves Top Showcase for New Talent

LONDON, July 8/PRNewswire/ -- Thousands of live music fans packed the Gig Junkie tent throughout the successful ZOO8 festival in Kent to see an array of new talent and brilliant bands from the county.

One highlight was Monday Street who played to a large audience in the Gig Junkie tent on Saturday evening as part of the ZOO8 Showcase, despite competing with Ash and The Cribs on the Main Stage. Their performance was so successful that they were asked to play the Main Stage on the Sunday night before The Holloways and The Hives!

Monday Street front man Chris Peto said: "We had a blast playing the Gig Junkie tent! It was a big crowd and we got a great reception. Well chuffed, we were packing up on Sunday and getting ready to leave when we got a call to play the Main Stage. The response from the Main Stage crowd was amazing and I hope we got some new fans. What a weekend!"

Over 40 bands played in the Gig Junkie tent and an eclectic mix made for a great way for real Gig Junkies to get a feel for some of the Live Music being made in Kent.

Marc Bridgen, MD of the Gig Junkie website for live music fans at http://www.gigjunkie.net says: "Gig Junkie is all about the promotion of Live Music and sharing the gig experience, not any single band. Putting on the Gig Junkie tent and working with the local promoters to give this fantastic mix of talent a platform to show it off was fantastic! And to have Monday Street go from the Gig Junkie tent on to the Main Stage was just superb!"

Special mention must be given to HEVY, Suburban Kings, Tap N Tin and the ZOO8 organisers who worked with Gig Junkie to put on all of the bands and make the Gig Junkie tent such a great success.

Gig Junkie looks forward to supporting Z009 and showcasing more new talent.
