Coachella Valley Prepares to Rock When Spotlight 29 Casino Welcomes George Thorogood and the Destroyers With Buddy Guy

George Thorogood and The Destroyers came out of Delaware in the 1970s as what Boston Globe music critic Steve Morse describes as "a jarringly high-energy bunch" with "raucous, slide guitar-stoked, blues-rock covers."

The band's cover of Hank Williams' "Move It On Over," made them stars in the late 1970s, and a series of gold records followed, including 1982's "Bad to the Bone" and "Born to Be Bad" (1988). In 2004, the band put out a Capitol compilation, "Greatest Hits: 30 Years of Rock," which went gold and topped Billboard's blues chart for 60 weeks, and won the magazine's award for Blues Record of the Year.

Their list of hits reads like the playlist of every classic rock station in America, including "Bad to the Bone," "You Talk Too Much," "I Drink Alone," "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer." Thorogood will also appear on Elvin Bishop's upcoming album, scheduled for release later this year.

Renowned blues guitarist and singer Buddy Guy is considered by many to be the master of Chicago-style electric blues. In a career spanning more than 45 years, he has won five Grammy Awards, both for his work on his electric and acoustic guitars, and for contemporary and traditional forms of blues music.

By 2004, Buddy Guy had also earned 23 W.C. Handy Awards (the most any one blues artist has received), Billboard Magazine's prestigious The Century Award (Guy was its second recipient) for "distinguished artistic achievement," the title of Greatest Living Electric Blues Guitarist, and a Congressional Medal of Arts (awarded by the President to those who have made extraordinary contributions to the creation, growth and support in the arts in the United States).

In 2005 Buddy Guy was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by friends Eric Clapton and BB King. Guy gave a very simple acceptance speech: "If you don't think you has the blues, just keep living."
