California Cable & Telecommunications Association Names Carolyn McIntyre as New President

Former Sempra Energy Executive Will Take CCTA Helm On July 14, Succeeding Retiring Dennis Mangers

SACRAMENTO, Calif., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The Executive Committee of the California Cable & Telecommunications Association (CCTA) has selected Carolyn McIntyre to serve as CCTA's new president, it was announced today by Comcast's Steve White, Chairman of the CCTA Board of Directors. Currently serving as Regional Vice President for Sempra Energy, McIntyre will join CCTA on July 14, 2008, becoming only the fourth president since the organization's inception in 1958. McIntyre, who will be based out of the CCTA's office in Sacramento, succeeds Dennis Mangers who is retiring after twenty-eight years of service to the telecommunications industry.

Commenting on McIntyre's selection, White stated, "CCTA conducted a comprehensive and detailed search for our new president with a focus on the attributes that reflect our industry -- honesty, integrity, entrepreneurialism, innovation and a commitment to "giving back" to our communities. Without question, Carolyn meets, and exceeds, our expectations."

With regard to Mangers' retirement, White added, "Dennis Mangers led CCTA through the challenges marked by regulatory changes and state franchising. We appreciate his skillful leadership and thank him for his immeasurable contributions to California's telecommunications industry."

Since joining Sempra in 1996, McIntyre has been responsible for directing Sempra's advocacy efforts in Sacramento, representing the interests of Sempra and its subsidiaries before the Legislature, Constitutional Officers and Administrative Agencies.

From 1993 to 1996 she served as a Legislative Representative for the California State Association of Counties (CSAC). Before her stint at CSAC, McIntyre was the Deputy Secretary of the Youth & Adult Correctional Agency from 1991 to 1993. From 1981 to 1991, she held several critical positions in the California Department of Justice.

A resident of Elk Grove, McIntyre holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Sacramento and serves as a Board Member for Women Escaping a Violent Environment, (WEAVE).

CCTA is the industry's largest state cable and telecommunications association representing cable systems, which provide service to almost eight million California homes. CCTA has Associate Members, including individuals and corporations interested in cable, many of whom are actively engaged in the manufacture and distribution of content, hardware and software for the cable industry.
