Retirement Living TV Wins Three Regional Emmy Awards
Viewpoint with Lea Thompson and What's Next? Bring Home the Wins for the Five Time Nominated Network
WASHINGTON, June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Retirement Living TV (RLTV), the first network dedicated to people 55+, announced today that two of their programs are regional Emmy Award winners from the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Viewpoint with Lea Thompson received two awards, one for a special on medical marijuana in the Investigative Report -- Single Story area and another for its look at hospital infections through the Magazine Program -- Program/Special category. An Emmy for What's Next? was awarded in the Arts/Entertainment category for the episode featuring Alice, a retiree and Silver Spring, Maryland resident who was rescued by the makeover team from a life of social isolation and given new purpose and direction.
What's Next? and its host Sherry Parrish recently received some additional exposure with an appearance yesterday on ABC's Good Morning America and News Now, where the show's premiere episode subject Rich was also interviewed. Rich's daughter, producer Debbie Jacobson, created the show as a result of seeing what her father was going through in retirement.

RLTV received a total of five nominations in this season's Emmy race. The network's health issues program Healthline was nominated for its episode on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, in the Informational/Instructional -- Program/Special category and in the category of Program Host/Moderator, The Florence Henderson Show was nominated.
The executive producer of What's Next? is Dean Love, and Debbie Jacobson is producer/creator. Matt Borten is executive producer of "Medical Marijuana," and Susan Rucci is producer. Matt Borten is also the executive producer of the "Hospital Infections" episode of Viewpoint with Lea Thompson; producers are Lou Charlip, Adam Eisenberg and Jeff Man.
