9 Million U.S. Mobile Users Have Used Their Mobile Phone to Pay for Goods or Services
Commerce over mobile devices such as cell phones is accelerating in the U-S, according to data released by The Nielsen Company. Already, 9 million U-S mobile subscribers say they have used their mobile phone to pay for goods or services, and half of all data users, or 49 percent, say they expect to participate in mobile commerce in the future.

United Airlines Announces New Checked Bag Policy for Domestic Flights
United Airlines has announced two changes to its domestic checked bag policy. The service fee to check one bag for domestic travel will be $15 each way and the fee to check three or more bags, overweight bags or items that require special handling will increase from $100 to $125 or from $200 to $250, depending on the item. These changes apply to customers who purchase a ticket on or after June 13, 2008, for travel within the U-S and to/from Canada, Puerto Rico and the U-S Virgin Islands on or after August 18, 2008. The $15 service fee does not apply to customers who are flying in United First or United Business or who have premier status with United or Star Alliance.

Brad Garrett Looks for Love Online
Emmy Award-winning actor Brad Garrett kills two birds with one stone -- producing and starring in his first original online series and looking for love -- with his new reality series, Dating Brad Garrett. The ten-episode series will follow Garrett on blind dates with 10 lucky ladies, chosen from applicants who submit their own original videos online for a chance to make a love connection and be part of the show. Cosmetic Procedures Still Booming Despite Economy Concerns
Despite concerns that the U-S economy is heading toward a recession, procedures that make consumers feel good and confident about the way they look continue to be in demand according to a new survey released by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. The survey collected responses from 562 A-S- D-S members. Nearly 63 percent of member respondents are maintaining a consistent volume of bookings for existing patients seeking cosmetic-related procedures compared to six months ago, while 24 percent had indicated an increase. Additionally, nearly 32 percent of dermatologic surgeons indicated that the number of new patients making appointments had increased by up to 30 percent.
