Foghat, which currently consists of band members Roger Earl, Craig MacGregor, Bryan Bassett and Charlie Huhn, has been an extremely successful rock band, earning seven Gold records, one Platinum record "Fool For The City" (1975), and one Double-Platinum record "Foghat Live" (1977). The "Fool For The City" album contained Foghat's trademark Top 40 hit song "Slow Ride," and cemented the band's place as one of the world's top rock acts.
They continued to hit the charts in the 1970s with singles that remain on the top play lists of classic rock stations including "Fool For The City," "Drivin' Wheel," "I Just Wanna Make Love To You," "I'll Be Standing By," "Stone Blue," "Third Time Lucky" and "Somebody's Been Sleeping In My Bed."
Leon Russell is a music legend and perhaps the most accomplished and versatile musician in the history of rock 'n roll. In fact, it might be easier to list the artists who the multiple Grammy-winner has not collaborated with, as he has literally teamed with hundreds of singers across all genres, from Glen Campbell to Joe Cocker, Frank Sinatra to Aretha Franklin, The Beach Boys to the Rolling Stones and B.B. King to George Harrison. His pairings with Willie Nelson are legendary.
His first Grammy came with 1971's "Jumpin' Jack Flash/Youngblood" medley, which was named Album of the Year. 1979's "One For The Road" went Gold and was honored by the Country Music Association with a nomination for "Album Of The Year." The album included the single "Heartbreak Hotel" which won the Grammy Award in 1980 for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group. In 2001, he played with Earl Scruggs and Friends on "Foggy Mountain Breakdown," which earned a Grammy for Best Country Instrumental Performance.
Tickets for Foghat and Leon Russell are $35, and are available now at Spotlight29.com and at the Spotlight 29 Casino Gift Shop or by calling (800) 585-3737. Show time is 8 p.m.
