Fandango.com has exclusive ticketing access to more than 15,000 movie screens across the country and its consumers enjoy great movie content, including exclusive movie trailers and videos, coming attractions, user ratings and reviews, and personalization features. Movies.com is a complementary site that provides a broad array of information to passionate movie lovers, including movie synopses, reviews, movie and celebrity news, DVD releases and a host of other features.
The synergy of these two well-established and popular movie sites, both launched in 2000, will create new opportunities for exhibitors, studios, advertisers and other partners to reach the moviegoing audience, and will provide additional information and entertainment for moviegoers. Fandango's advertising sales force will represent both sites with a wide variety of advertisers.
"We are pleased to expand our rich entertainment reach through this strategic addition of Movies.com," said Chuck Davis, CEO of Fandango. "We'll be able to leverage our combined assets to offer millions of new moviegoers the best movie-related information available on the Web."
With the addition of Movies.com, the Fandango network expands to reach a new audience. Fandango has enjoyed robust growth, with a 24% year-over-year increase in traffic* this year. During the month of May 2008, Fandango reached 6.3 million monthly unique visitors, while Movies.com served 1.9 million monthly unique visitors.** There is little duplication between the audiences of the two sites.
Additionally, Fandango now provides online ticketing for Movies.com users, who will have access to more than 15,000 screens across the nation.
