TargetSpot Announces comScore Arbitron Online Radio Ratings Agreement and Tools for Large Advertisers and Agencies

Fast growing streaming radio advertising platform, with over 600 stations nationwide, will be ranked by audience measurement system

NEW YORK, May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- For large advertisers and agencies, the internet revolution has unleashed a host of opportunities, but they are fueled by one overriding desire -- the ability to get better, more accurate information in order to make better purchasing decisions. Streaming media advertising company, TargetSpot, Inc., already in the vanguard in providing advertisers with detailed information, announced today that it would add several new features that will help advertisers make more informed choices: TargetSpot's nationwide network will now receive an Arbitron Ranking, with a full third-party accounting of the size and scope of the growing company's listener base.

TargetSpot's nationwide network of over 600 stations will get a comScore Arbitron Online Radio Rating, which provides Average Quarter-Hour and Cumulative (Cume) audience estimates for standard dayparts and demographics. The comScore Arbitron ratings join a number of special agency focused services that TargetSpot offers, including frequency caps and flighting, custom networks, hierarchical accounts, and compatibility with DoubleClick's DART and aQuantive's Atlas tracking.

"TargetSpot is doing everything possible to make utilizing internet radio advertising easy for media planners and buyers," said Matt Feinberg, SVP Zenith Media, a top full service agency.

"We have seen that in order to make informed purchasing choices, large advertisers and agencies need detailed information that will allow them to size the opportunity for internet radio," said TargetSpot CEO Doug Perlson. "Our Arbitron measurement will serve as one more tool that media planners and buyers now have to make the smart, fully informed choices that will allow them to define our reach and target their core audience."

"The weekly Internet radio audience has grown by more than 60 percent since 2005 and our research shows that it continues to offer a very attractive audience for advertisers," said Bill Rose, senior vice president Marketing & Business development, Arbitron. "With the ComScore/Arbitron ratings service, TargetSpot can demonstrate the size and value of its audience to advertisers looking to reach this influential group of consumers."

TargetSpot's patent pending technology allows businesses of all sizes to create, buy and place advertising messages on internet radio. In addition to its full-service offering, TargetSpot offers a self-service option that allows advertisers to create cost-effective customized audio, video, banner and text ads with an array of jingles, sound effects and visuals provided by TargetSpot. Clients can also upload their current creative directly into their TargetSpot account. Ads are then targeted to a specific demographic, location (down to the zip code) and/or station.

In its first year of operation, TargetSpot is already working with CBS Radio and Entercom Communications Corp., two of the top five broadcasters in the nation, as well as several pioneers of internet radio, and a number of web 2.0 music service innovators. Additionally, beginning this Spring, TargetSpot will also provide access to streaming advertising on AOL Radio streams powered by CBS Radio's technology.
