Greater Baltimore Committee leaders will discuss efforts to strengthen the Baltimore region's business climate at the organization's 53rd annual meeting on May 7 at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore.
GBC President and CEO Donald C. Fry and GBC Chairman Atwood "Woody" Collins III, president of M&T Bank's Mid-Atlantic region, will offer their assessments of current challenges to Maryland's business climate to more than 850 business and civic leaders expected to attend the event.
Meanwhile, political commentator Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC's "Hardball," will be the GBC's featured keynote speaker. Through his nightly role on "Hardball," his appearances on NBC's "Today" show, and his own weekly syndicated show, Matthews plays a central role in media coverage of U.S. politics.
The GBC will also present the 2008 Regional Visionary Award, which honors individuals for exemplary commitment to regional teamwork, and the Walter Sondheim Jr. Award, which recognizes private-sector individuals for outstanding civic and community leadership.
