NEW YORK, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of the premiere of BET's annual spring break special, SPRING BLING, BET NEWS partners with Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia for SPRING BREAK DIARIES. Providing viewers with an alternate look on how some college students choose to spend their spring break, SPRING BREAK DIARIES is a half hour documentary style special that follows a group of 19 students from Atlanta's Spelman and Morehouse Colleges on a life-changing trip to Senegal in West Africa. During the expedition the 17 female and two male students set out on a nine day mission to build a school library in the rural Ndoffane village while lodging with local families and experiencing the true Senegalese culture. Dealing with conditions like extreme heat, massive cultural differences, language barriers, and the lack of indoor plumbing-this unique special captures the students' entire journey from take off in Atlanta to their teary goodbyes in Senegal. SPRING BREAK DIARIES premieres on Sunday, April 13 at 11AM* on BET.
