Child passengers, ages 12 to 16, are more likely to die in a car crash than younger children, according to a study released in the Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. This risk increases with each teenage year. Conducted as part of an on-going research collaboration between The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and State Farm Insurance Companies, the study offers evidence-based guidelines for parents and policymakers to help protect this vulnerable age group.

NASA Spacecraft Photographs Avalanches on Mars
A NASA spacecraft in orbit around Mars has taken the first ever image of active avalanches near the Red Planet's north pole. The image shows tan clouds billowing away from the foot of a towering slope, where ice and dust have just cascaded down.
The High Resolution Imaging Experiment, or HiRISE, on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter took the photograph February 19th. It is one of approximately 24-hundred HiRISE images that NASA has released.

Ronald Reagan's Voice to Hit Airwaves Again
Ronald Reagan's voice will soon be heard across the land again, according to plans announced by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation.
A spokesman says a series of thirty segments of Reagan's five-minute daily radio commentaries will commence airing on radio stations on April 28th. Reagan wrote over one-thousand radio addresses that clarified his vision for America.
Non-political in nature, the series which will be titled "Ronald Reagan Speaks for Himself," hopes to reach the several generations of Americans who never heard him speak on issues such as the economy, immigration, abortion, terrorism, taxes and more.

Postal Service executives are marking National Consumer Protection Week by warning consumers against fake check scams and providing tips to prevent identity theft.
National Consumer Protection Week, set for March second through the eighth, is a week of activities sponsored primarily by the Federal Trade Commission to draw attention to fake check scams and other threats to consumers. The Postal Service and the U-S Postal Inspection Service are playing an important role by drawing attention to the continuing consumer problem of fraudulent checks and money orders and building on a national outreach effort to protect against identity theft.
