GOIRLE, BREDA, DEN HAAG, SNEEK, The Netherlands, February 4/PRNewswire/ --
- Restaurants in Popular TV Program Receive Innovative Sound Insulation
Two of the four new restaurants in the popular RTL4 program "Mijn Tent Is Top" are able to play music as loudly as they want, thanks to an innovative Dutch product.
The establishments are being sound-insulated with 125 Hz Acoustic Frames from the Archiobel. The frames use a unique combination of plaster, cellulose fiber and acoustic metal frames, making it possible to dampen sound up to 72 decibels. In the show "Mijn Tent Is Top," four teams compete to establish a restaurant, and the team with the most successful restaurant gets to keep the business as well as regain their original investment. Well-known TV chef Herman den Blijker acts as both chairman of the jury and advisor to the teams. RTL4 is starting a new season beginning Tuesday, February 5 as a follow-up to the successful first season.
In this new series, aspiring restaurateurs in Groningen, Enschede, The Hague and Breda work to realize their dream. Archiobel has been engaged by the Heineken Breweries to provide the restaurants with sound insulation.
Over the past twenty years, the company has provided sound insulation to 5,000-6,000 restaurants and bars, and recently introduced new type of sound-proofing panel to the European market. While the 125 HZ Acoustic Frames are predominately installed in and around airports and in hotels, they are also used in restaurants and bars with live music. Here, the panels can dampen bass tones, which are difficult to suppress. Archiobel guarantees a noise reduction of 60 decibels. As a reference, a reduction of 3 decibels sounds like a reduction in half to the human ear.
For the new "Toptent" restaurant, Flinstering in Breda, Archiobel was able to dampen the sound by 72 decibels, so that the neighbors would not experience any problems with loud music or noise. In The Hague, restaurant Choix du Chef has a wood ceiling, above which residential apartments are located. Here, the panels dampen sound by 67 decibels. "Hardly anyone succeeds at this. We are successful in insulating noise down to legal sound standards at 99% of restaurants and bars," says Henk Leferink, the proud Managing Director of Archiobel.
Orders for the new panels from Dutch and European construction firms are increasing. Archiobel, based in Goirle, has been creating innovative insulation products since 1972. They developed the 125 Hz Acoustic Frames in collaboration with specialists such as CWA Angelbachtal in Germany, and Cell Systems and Cell Productions in Sneek.
