The Liberal Plan to Censor Conservative Media
New Book and TV Advertising Campaign Highlight Growing Danger to Freedom of Speech in America
WASHINGTON, Dec. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As special interest groups accelerate their campaign to muzzle conservative talk radio hosts, Accuracy in Media editor Cliff Kincaid and Texas-based talk show host Lynn Woolley have released a new book, The Death of Talk Radio?, which warns that without passage of the Broadcaster Freedom Act in Congress, political talk radio will be killed by federal bureaucrats. The Broadcaster Freedom Act would prevent the return of the so-called Fairness Doctrine by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
The book is being published by AIM and released as the nation's oldest media watchdog group also unveils a television ad drawing public attention to this dangerous threat to freedom of speech. The ad, now airing on Washington, D.C. cable channels, is available for viewing at the AIM website www.aim.org.
"Time is running out on free speech in America," warns AIM editor Cliff Kincaid. "A politically-powerful liberal-left movement is determined to silence conservative media personalities by authorizing bureaucrats at the FCC to monitor and regulate the content of political speech over the airwaves. Many people do not realize that a liberal majority at the FCC could impose this policy without a vote by Congress. But Congress can and must stop this dangerous threat to freedom of speech by passing the Broadcaster Freedom Act."
Rep. Mike Pence, the sponsor of the Broadcaster Freedom Act in the House, has written the introduction to the book.
