Jamming with 'Santa' to Help Homeless Families

Santa Jam Charity Concert Benefits Doorways for Women and Families

ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following release is being issued by Doorways for Women and Families:

WHO: Principato bassist John Perry will be holding the 11th Annual Santa Jam concert at the State Theatre in Falls Church on Thursday, December 13. Sales from Santa Jam's wildly popular "Your Choice Charity Raffle" will benefit women and families experiencing homelessness and victims of domestic violence served by Doorways for Women and Families (www.doorwaysva.org).

Raffle items range from a condo stay in Tamarindo Bay, Costa Rica (valued at over $1,000) to Bon Jovi concert tickets. Raffle proceeds will be used to provide food, clothing and toys to Doorways' clients.

Tickets are a $10 minimum donation and can be purchased online at www.thestatetheatre.com or at the door. Concert goers are also asked to bring an unwrapped gift or toy for the families residing in Doorways' domestic violence Safe House and Freddie Mac Foundation Family Home.

WHAT: Featured performers include Generation Vinyl, Linwood Taylor, the Mary Ann Redmond Band, Mary Shaver, Mike Ault, Radio Mosaic, Soul Gravity, the Tom Principato Band, and the Tommy Lepson Band.

"Children with their parents comprise more than 50 percent of the residents in Doorways' shelters and programs throughout the year," said Linda Dunphy, Executive Director for Doorways for Women and Families. "The funds raised by Santa Jam provide valuable services to these families year-round and the donated toys help make the holidays brighter for the kids."
