'The Spiderwick Chronicles' Kicks off Multi City Mobile Tour with The Spiderwick Chronicles Experience

Mobile Tour comes to a city near you beginning November 10

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Nov 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures announce the launch of The Spiderwick Chronicles Experience, an interactive mobile tour to 23 cities across the U.S. starting November 10 and running through February 10, 2008 in anticipation of the February 15 national release of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies' family adventure "The Spiderwick Chronicles."

Cities included on the tour include Chicago, Seattle, Miami, Detroit, Denver, Miami, Cincinnati, Baltimore, Austin, Houston, Atlanta, San Diego and Orlando. Two mobile units housing The Spiderwick Chronicles Experience will visit schools and family events in each city. Inside the mobile units, children will be guided through a variety of different educational and interactive attractions including: A growth chart featuring all the amazing and various creatures contained in the movie, which was adapted from the best-selling series of books by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black; film clips offering a step-by-step look at how the film's CGI animated characters were created; several different clips from the film and a feature introducing the varied creatures; an interactive preview of Vivendi's video game inspired by the film, as well as a 'making of' preview on how the video game was created. Kids will also have an opportunity to morph into a "Spiderwick" creature and will receive memorabilia from the film upon exiting the experience.

"We are so excited to bring a three-dimensional, interactive way to introduce "The Spiderwick Chronicles" film across the country -- not only to fans of the books, but to an even broader audience," says the film's director Mark Waters.

The tour launches with a visit to the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota on Saturday November 10, which will be heavily promoted by all the mall retailers with the film's trailer playing at select spots throughout the mall.

   Other upcoming highlights include:    -- On November 21st, The Spiderwick Chronicles Experience will be part of      The Hob Nobble Gobble, a charity event the night before Thanksgiving.      The next day, it will be part of the annual Turkey Trot, a benefit      race, and the 81st annual America's Thanksgiving Parade.    -- A two-day stop at Camp Matrius Park in Detroit November 23rd and 24th.    -- Balboa Park's December Nights.  This annual event will be held December      1st and 2nd and attracts over 250,000 individuals.   

From the beloved best-selling series of books comes "The Spiderwick Chronicles," a fantasy adventure for the child in all of us. Peculiar things start to happen the moment the Grace family (Jared, his twin brother Simon, sister Mallory and their mom) leave New York and move into the secluded old house owned by their great-great-uncle Arthur Spiderwick.

Unable to explain the strange disappearances and accidents that seem to be happening on a daily basis, the family blames Jared. When he, Simon and Mallory investigate what's really going on, they uncover the fantastic truth of the Spiderwick estate and of the creatures that inhabit it.
