Hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design, the annual festival presents a full range of cinematic creativity from both award-winning professionals and emerging student filmmakers.

In a special tribute, SCAD President Paula S. Wallace presented Douglas and the Redgrave siblings with the award recognizing their thespian accomplishments.

"I'm so happy to be here tonight and grateful my wife Catherine can be here to share this with me," Douglas said.

With more than 35 years of experience in theater, film and television, actor and producer Michael Douglas branched out into independent feature production in 1975 with the Academy Award-winning "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." Since then, he has shown a knack for choosing projects that reflect changing trends and public concerns. He has been involved in such controversial and politically influential motion pictures as 1975's Cuckoo's Nest, Academy Award-nominated film "The China Syndrome" (1979) and "Traffic" (2000).

Following the awards presentation and tribute for Douglas, the Redgrave siblings were also honored.

"I am so moved to be here with my beloved brother and sister. We've been actors for five decades and we've loved every second if it," Lynn Redgrave said.

Lynn Redgrave made her professional debut in a 1962 production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Royal Court Theatre. Highlights of her early movie career include "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex" (1972), "The Happy Hooker" (1975) and "Getting It Right" (1989).

Her film career has been revitalized in recent years, including a role in Bill Condon's "Gods And Monsters" (1998), for which she won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress and received an Oscar nomination.

"I add all of my heartfelt thanks to SCAD. What a day you've given us. Today has been a wonderful day," Vanessa said, following her sister's remarks.

Vanessa Redgrave began her 50-year acting career in the 1957 production of "The Reluctant Debutante."

Her distinguished film credits include "A Man for All Seasons" (1966), "Camelot" (1969), "Blow Up" (1966), "Morgan: A Suitable Case for Treatment" (1965), "Mary Queen of Scots" (1972), "Howards End" (1992), "Murder on the Orient Express" (1974), "The Seven-Per-Cent Solution" (1976), "Agatha" (1979), and "Yanks" (1979), for which she received numerous Academy and Golden Globe Awards and nominations.

Vanessa and Lynn's brother, Corin Redgrave, has worked with well-known film directors including Tony Richardson and Nicolas Roeg. He also starred in Jim Sheridan's seven-time Academy Award-nominated film "In the Name of the Father" (1993) and played Andie MacDowell's husband in the Academy Award- nominated film "Four Weddings and a Funeral" (1994).

"How grateful I am - and we are - for the day you have given us today. It is the greatest excitement, urge, and stimulus to go on and do more, for which we thank you," Corin Redgrave said.
