Me.dium Brings Bands and Fans Together With RockMe. Sessions
Me.dium Expands upon Its Inaugural RockMe. Online Music Festival, Providing Platform for Bands and Fans to Interact in Real-Time
BOULDER, Colo., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Me.dium, a computer software company, today announced it will continue its popular RockMe. music program by implementing daily "RockMe. Based upon the success of the inaugural September 2007 five-day festival, Me.dium will expand RockMe. to feature "RockMe. Sessions" beginning Thursday, October 11, 2007, with the band Perpetual Groove. RockMe. facilitates an innovative, compelling connection between bands and fans, while enabling fans to interact and discover new music together in real-time. During the "RockMe. Sessions," a different band, artist or music maven will lead participants on a virtual tour around the Web, giving a behind-the-scenes look at their music, videos, and favorite content found throughout the Internet.
Through the "RockMe. Sessions," Me.dium has created a new, personalized platform for artists and bands to reach their fans. Unlike many page-focused chat rooms that only allow people to chat on a specific site, Me.dium connects users across the entire Web, enabling interaction that spans the Internet. Since the collaboration and communication is all in real-time, bands and artists are able to connect with their fans on a more personalized level that's never been available before.
"Me.dium allows friends, fans, bands and music lovers to surf the Web together. We all view the same pages at exactly the same time," said Isaac Carpenter, lead singer of the band Gosling. "So instead of me calling my wife and saying 'hey go to the 8th page on Perez Hilton's blog and check out this picture,' she can just sign into Me.dium, find my profile and hop right on to where I am and view what I am viewing. It's like watching the same channel on TV."
Me.dium has a number of high-profile bands lined up for "RockMe. Sessions" in the next month, including:
-- Perpetual Groove - October 11, -- The Swayback - October 15 -- Lol Tolhurst - October 17 -- Gosling - October 18 -- New Monsoon - October 22
"We're very excited to be expanding on the success of the RockMe. festival and bringing Me.dium users the opportunity to chat with artists and bands on a regular basis," said David Mandell, co-founder and vice president of marketing for Me.dium. "We received such positive feedback from both bands and fans alike after the inaugural RockMe. festival in September, we just had to make these events a regular feature on Me.dium. We're really looking forward to expanding our lineup in the coming year and helping bands and fans interact in a completely unique digital setting."
