Lucky Outdoor Channel Viewer Wins His Own Fishing Show

Fifth-Annual Nationwide Viewer Contest Draws Thousands of Auditions

TEMECULA, Calif., Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Outdoor Channel, America's Leader in Outdoor TV, announced today the winner of Win Your Own Fishing Show, an annual nationwide contest to find the best fishing enthusiast to host one episode of his/her own show. After final votes were tallied on Outdoor Channel's website, Andy Lulinski, 25, of Crown Point, IN, beat out more than 2,000 entrants to have his own fishing episode on the network.

"The Win Your Own Fishing Show contest is a fun way for Outdoor Channel to involve our viewers by offering them the chance to be a star on our network," said Tom Hornish, COO of Outdoor Channel. "Andy's entertaining and personable fishing audition truly proved to be the best embodiment of our network's idea of an outdoor enthusiast enjoying the great outdoors with his family."

While at The Blues Jazz & Fine Arts Festival in Munster, IN, Lulinski auditioned immediately following a fishing trip, using his morning's catch as props. As Lulinski identified and displayed each one of his fish, judges noted his charismatic personality throughout his audition and selected him as a semifinalist. Semifinalists were then narrowed down to five finalists, which were voted on via Outdoor Channel's website.

Comcast also awarded Lulinski with a certificate for one year of free basic and sports tier cable (a $1,000 value). The show, called Fishing With Andy Lulinski, will highlight Lulinski piloting the family boat, the "Bite Me," around Lake Michigan. The episode is slated to air on November 19th at 8:30 PM Eastern.

Since its inception in 2002, the annual Win Your Own Fishing Show program has visited 300 events, touched nearly all 50 states and garnered more than 12,000 auditions.
