This Thursday, for the first time ever, the Press Club will hear from "Ask A Mexican" columnist, Gustavo Arellano, about his newfound success and popular new book, Ask A Mexican.

"I'm Gustavo Arellano. I was born in Anaheim, California, to a tomato canner and an illegal immigrant. My Ask a Mexican column won the 2006 Association of Alternative Newsweeklies award for the best column in a large circulation weekly. I'm a contributing editor to the Los Angeles Times and have appeared on Today, Nightline, NPR's On the Media, The Situation with Tucker Carlson, and The Colbert Report. Moderator Bio:
Anthea Raymond was the first Senior Editor at NPR affiliate KPCC. For almost two years, she supervised the station's team of award-winning reporters and assigned and edited hundreds of news spots and features. She also won a Golden Mike for a special on the California Recall election she co-hosted and produced with Frank Stoltze. Most recently, Raymond was Show Editor for NPR's News and Notes, a daily news-talk program highlighting African American perspectives. Since the mid-1980s, Raymond has created and produced programs, features, and news reports for radio and television at places like KCRW, WBGO, and Bloomberg Radio. Her work has received numerous awards from groups like the TelevisionAcademy, the National Association of Black Journalists, the Radio Television News Association, and American Women in Radio and Television. She has taught communications and journalism at HunterCollege, UCLA, and USC's AnnenbergSchool, as well as in Moscowand St. Petersburg
