CBS Sports Mobile Web Sees Explosive Growth
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- CBSSports.com, a leading Internet sports media service and part of CBS Interactive, today announced that according to the September traffic data from Nielsen//NetRatings, CBSSports.com has again led all major sports sites* in visits per person and time per person. September marks the sixth consecutive month that CBSSports.com has led all major sports sites in those two consumption metrics.
"The dream audience for an Internet advertiser is one that is highly engaged," said Jason Kint, Senior Vice President and General Manager of CBSSports.com. "As these numbers indicate, CBSSports.com users visit our content more often and for longer periods than any other major sports site on the web. CBSSports.com had been delivering this coveted audience for quite a while now, a testament to our talented writers, original video productions and superior fantasy games."
Loyalty Metrics for September 2007 (Nielsen//NetRatings home and work panel, September 2007) -- Visits per Person: CBSSports.com led all major sports sites with 10.33 Visits per Person (VPP). Not only are CBSSports.com users more loyal, but the multi-platform CBS Sports brand is seeing growth in all areas. Since rebranding the service CBSSports.com this past August, users to the site have increased a healthy 27% - the highest growth rate among major sports sites over the past month, excluding the obvious seasonal bump associated with NFL.com. Kint attributes the growth to superior NFL and College Football coverage along with better integration with CBS Sports Mobile and TV platforms.
