C4CC Congratulates FCC for Taking a Stand for Consumers

WASHINGTON, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Consumers for Competitive Choice (C4CC) applauds the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for its bold ruling that favors consumer protection over big business interests in the matter of cable subscriptions for those living in apartment buildings. Wednesday, the agency is set to strike down monopolistic contracts that tie entire apartment complexes to one cable company without offering cost-saving competition for subscribers.

"Apartment dwellers will finally be treated as first-class citizens when it comes to cable competition and see the same price and choice benefits as other customers," said Robert K. Johnson, president of C4CC.

On behalf of the one-million+ C4CC coalition members, Johnson met with the FCC last week in an effort to achieve competition and fairness for apartment dwellers.

C4CC members are available to comment on Wednesday's FCC order. To set up an interview, contact Laura Pflum at 502-384-0054 or at laurapflum@gmail.com.
