Gig Barton Spearheads Advertising Sales for Retirement Living TV

First Cable Network Dedicated to the 55+ Demographic Recruits Innovative and Highly-Recognized Cable TV Industry Leader

WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Retirement Living TV (RLTV), the first network dedicated to people 55+, announced today the appointment of Gig Barton as its vice president of advertising sales. Barton's primary focus will be developing relationships with advertisers and agencies to create dynamic partnerships that connect America's fastest-growing demographic with America's best companies. From his New York City-based sales office he will also work closely with programming to develop branded entertainment that also benefits the network's advertisers.

"Gig has immense experience, strong relationships with advertisers and proven ability to leverage a single-network multiplatform consisting of Internet, print, as well as national and spot TV campaigns. His talents will be critical in the growth of our network," said Vice President Strategic Development for Retirement Living TV, Patrick Baldwin. "Clearly our ability to attract the television industry's top talent is confirmation that we are creating a vibrant and relevant network that connects advertisers and affiliates with this greatly underserved audience."

"Adults 55+ are one of the two fastest growing demographics in America, second in size only to Hispanics," said Gig Barton. "I'm looking forward to developing innovative and customized campaign platforms that connect our advertisers to their consumers."

Prior to joining RLTV, Barton advised media and entertainment companies with a focus on venture capital funding, revenue generation, business plan development and content distribution across linear network, broadband and VOD platforms. He also served as executive vice president of sales at the Court TV Network. There he aided the network in its early stages, similar to his appointment at RLTV.

Barton's career spans years in cable TV, radio and print. He served as New York sales manager for National Cable Communications, selling national spot advertising in local cable markets. His exponential ad sales success was critical to Financial News Network valuation in the sale of the network to CNBC.

Barton worked on the affiliate relations side of the media business as well, launching new projects at Dow Jones, including The Wall Street Journal Report. He also spent four years at NBC, creating new technical and financial relations with radio affiliates for their young adult and news-talk networks.

Barton is a recognized and respected member of the advertising community and has judged the Iris and Effie Awards. He was also active in recruiting minorities for the Cable Television Advertising Bureau and was on the Cable Benefit Committee for New York City's Meals-on-Wheels. He is a graduate of Boston University's Metropolitan College.
