'LATV en Concierto' and 'Mex 2 The Max' Score Ratings High on KSAT
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- LATV Networks, the nation's first bilingual music/entertainment network distributed via digital multicast, announced today that KSAT, its Post-Newsweek Stations, Inc. owned San Antonio affiliate, ran two LATV programs on a promotional basis on its ABC affiliate primary channel, garnering significant ratings for its time slot on consecutive Saturdays.
"LATV's performance on KSAT proves what we have been telling advertisers and affiliates -- LATV will play to national audiences. KSAT took a gamble in a product they believed in and it paid off in big viewing numbers," said Danny Crowe, president of LATV. "Part of the success LATV has been enjoying during our national rollout is due to the incredible support our affiliates give our programming. They promote it on their primary channels, hold contests and events and now even run it on a promotional basis on a key night on their broadcast station. KSAT is a stellar example of the excellent affiliates we have on board."
KSAT aired LATV en Concierto on Saturday, July 21st, over its broadcast affiliate at 10:30 p.m. CT. and garnered a 3.7 rating/7 share,* scoring right after Saturday Night Live's 4.8 rating/9 share and winning over Univision's Noticiero Univision (3.2 rating/5 share), Fox's Mad TV (2.7 rating/4 share), CW's Matlock (0.5 rating/1 share) and Telemundo, various (0.3rating/ 1 share). On Saturday, July 28th, Mex 2 The Max (M2M) also aired in the same time slot, outperforming Fox's Mad TV (1.7 rating/3 share) and CW's Hometeam (0.2 rating). M2M received a 2.6 rating/5 share just behind Saturday Night Live's 3.3 rating/7 share.
LATV's national rollout began with Post-Newsweek station affiliates in San Antonio, KSAT (ABC); Houston, KPRC (NBC); Miami, WPLG (ABC); and Orlando, WKMG (CBS). LATV is multicast on these stations' digital spectrum as a standard-definition channel. The four Post-Newsweek stations are in the top 15 Hispanic ADIs. LATV also recently announced a 10-market affiliation agreement with Entravision Communications Corporation (NYSE:EVC) to broadcast the national network. Five of the 10 Entravision stations that are LATV affiliates register in the top 25 U.S. Hispanic markets. In addition to these markets, LATV has affiliates in 13 other markets including Puerto Rico.
