Danny Seraphine Comes Home to Chicago with California Transit Authority Performing at Borders(R) Michigan Avenue Store

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Who: Danny Seraphine is one of the world's most highly-respected rock drummers. He grew up in Chicago and started playing drums at the age of nine, eventually studying privately with famed percussionist Bob Tillis. Seraphine was the drummer, percussionist and a founding member of the multi-million selling, Grammy award wining band Chicago. From 1967 to 1990, Seraphine played on and helped produce 18 gold and 13 platinum albums, 50 Top 40 hits, including 20 Top 10 singles, and five number ones. After running his own label and production company for many years, Seraphine was introduced to Marc Bonilla and developed a rapport. Seraphine and Bonilla initially put a band together to play for several charity benefit shows. The response was so overwhelming that they decided to form California Transit Authority "CTA" and create an album. For Seraphine, this is the first time in 15 years that he has played live with a band and 17 years since he played in Chicago. What: Seraphine and CTA perform songs on their debut CD release, "Full Circle," and sign copies. Borders is the exclusive retailer for CTA and "Full Circle." When: Thursday, August 9 at 7 p.m. Where: Borders 830 N. Michigan Ave. Chicago, IL 60611 (312) 573-0564 Why: Chicago fans can experience a special in-store performance with Seraphine and CTA before their tour begins on August 10 and purchase their debut CD, "Full Circle" prior to its national release.
