OAKS, Pa., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Cable's Eastern Division today announced two senior executive appointments. Lindsay Johnston, J.D., joined the Eastern Division as vice president of human resources, and William (Bill) Andrews assumed the newly created position of vice president of business services. Johnston and Andrews both report to Michael Doyle, president of Comcast Cable's Eastern Division.

As vice president of human resources, Johnston is responsible for all aspects of human resources, learning and development, and organizational dynamics for the Eastern Division's 17,000 employees across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC. Johnston's extensive experience also includes senior legal and human resource positions with Peco Energy, Bell Atlantic and the law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Philadelphia.

A national lecturer on employment law issues, Johnston is the recipient of the Philadelphia YWCA "Women of Achievement Award" and sits on the Board of Directors for Southeastern Pennsylvania United Way. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Lafayette College and a Juris Doctorate from Villanova Law School. Johnston resides in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

"Our Division's 17,000 employees are our greatest asset, and I know they will be well-served by Lindsay's extensive experience in all aspects of human resources and learning and development," said Michael Doyle, president, Comcast Cable Eastern Division and founder, CN8, The Comcast Network. "As our Triple Play bundle continues to drive accelerated growth, and as we continue to add positions and prepare to open our new state-of-the-art 800-seat call center in Delaware, Lindsay's proven leadership and multi-faceted experience will be a tremendous resource and benefit to our Division."

Bill Andrews joins Comcast with more than 20 years of telecommunications experience, most recently at Convergys Corporation, where he served as vice president and general manager of automated self-service solutions for the Customer Management Group. Prior to that, he held increasingly senior leadership positions during 20 years with AT&T, including executive positions in both the Business and Consumer Services divisions.

As vice president of commercial services for Comcast Cable's Eastern Division, Andrews is responsible for the Division's concentrated focus on the small- to medium-sized business segment. He and his team will oversee strategy and deployment of new products and services geared to this growing segment, including Workplace Digital Voice and a robust Triple Play bundle of commercial services tailored to the business segment. Andrews holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Fordham University and completed the Executive Development Program at the London Business School. He resides in Flemington, New Jersey.

"Bill is a seasoned industry veteran with a consistent history of successfully launching new products and services to special interest markets," said Doyle.
