BERN, Switzerland, July 18/PRNewswire/ -- swissinfo/Swiss Radio International (SRI) is starting its own channel on YouTube, the world's most popular online video portal. The channel can be accessed at http://www.youtube.com/swissinfovideos. Starting today, it enables the international voice of SRG SSR idee suisse to make its own content available internationally via YouTube, thereby expanding its online video offering.
More and more people are searching the internet for specific film footage. In response to this demand, swissinfo/SRI has launched its own channel featuring selected videos about Switzerland and the Swiss. YouTube surfers can view, rate and comment on these videos and recommend them to their friends. They can even upload their own video responses and chat to other viewers about what they have seen.
New content every week
The video features produced by swissinfo journalists can be accessed from around the world at http://www.youtube.com/swissinfovideos. They are mainly original reports and background information on Swiss society, environment, arts, education, research and tourism. The English-language selection will be updated weekly, and there are plans continuously to expand the swissinfo/SRI offering in other languages, too.
