In a recent survey by World Television, 87% of its broadcaster and online journalist database said they would use significantly more corporate content if video and photo resources were more readily accessible. World Television has seen a gap in the market which other televisual communications companies are not tapping into -- namely supplying the broadcast and online journalists with easy access to video and photo assets to support their stories.
Steve Garvey, Chief Executive Officer at World Television said: "There is a strong message here to any PR director and Corporate Communications department. If you want your message to be used by the broadcast media and online journalists, make the content more easily accessible for them and you will see usage increase. Moreover it needs to be free."
Video News Manager (VNM) is a fully managed service. World Television takes care of the broadcast PR media assets, such as a Video News Releases (VNR), B Roll footage, executive interviews and high-res images and makes them available in an online searchable archive that is branded to match the clients' corporate identity.
All videos within the archive have a streaming preview and can be immediately downloaded in broadcast quality (MPEG2) format. Video News Manager can alert journalists as soon as new content is uploaded and translate it into different language versions as required.
There are also economic benefits to using Video News Manager. World Television hosts the video and photo archive page so there is no need for costly investment in technical infrastructure. The software is designed with the branding of the client's choice and sits seamlessly within the client's website. There are additional savings on couriers, on tape and satellite delivery costs and on time spent fulfilling requests as journalists can search and order clips of footage, logos or photos online.
Steve Garvey adds: "We have played to our strengths, we have listened to our clients who are concerned about the high pricing of other services, and we have launched a new product which can be integrated into our other related broadcast products and services."
Notes to editors Details of the Video News Manager, not outlined in the release include: -- Journalists can browse, search and order clips of footage, logos or photos by year/month/theme/ keyword. -- Footage is downloaded as default in MPEG2, which is broadcast quality (satellite and hard copy also available). -- Journalists can to sign up to receive email alerts according to preferences. -- Access to the archives is password controlled.
