Pete Yorn Back On the Road for Major US Summer Concert Tour Including Festival Slots at Bonnaroo & Lollapalooza and Shows With Crowded House & the Dave Matthews Band

NEW YORK, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- With his critically-acclaimed new album, Nightcrawler, in stores now, singer-songwriter Pete Yorn will embark on a major North American tour kicking off June 17 at the prestigious Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. Yorn's concert schedule will include festival performances at Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits as well as shared bills with Guster, Crowded House and the Dave Matthews Band (see full itinerary following). Pete Yorn will be performing on the road with his band, Minibar.

Last year, Yorn performed a series of successful shows opening for the Dixie Chicks and, from February-March 2007, counted Aqualung, Moses Mayfield, Charlotte Martin and Robbie Armstrong among his support acts. Following his major US summer concert tour, Pete Yorn will travel to the UK this fall for a series of shows with The Fray.

"For Us," the first single from Nightcrawler, has sold more than 20,000 digital copies, is a Top 5 Triple A radio hit while a video for the track is Top 20 on VH1. Yorn performed his song, "The Man," on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" on June 4. Pete's fans can look forward to hearing his new single, "Alive," which has just gone to AAA radio.

Drawing material from Yorn's much-heralded album trilogy -- musicforthemorningafter (2001), Day I Forgot (2003), and Nightcrawler (2006) - - Pete's current tour will showcase songs from all three albums as well as the dynamic cover choices and other musical surprises that make every Pete Yorn concert a unique and compelling event.

Pete Yorn's Nightcrawler has been drawing praise from the nation's music press, from the underground to the mainstream.

Penthouse, when naming "Our 20 Favorite Records of 2006," praised Nightcrawler saying, said, "A member of the next generation of great songwriters influenced by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, this New Jersey-born musician complements his romantically disenchanted, raspy vocals with fuzz- tinged guitars and keyboard on his third studio release."

"With an ear for can't miss hooks...Nightcrawler is Yorn's best yet," wrote the Washington Post, echoing the sentiments of many of the nation's music fans and critics, while Guitar World Acoustic concurred, "Pete Yorn is a singer/songwriter to be reckoned with."

From the beginning of his career, singer/songwriter/rocker Pete Yorn has been the topic of numerous critical accolades. Rolling Stone, who picked Pete as one of the magazine's "Ten to Watch in 2001," gave Pete's debut album, musicforthemorningafter, a four-star (****) rating calling the album " ... atmospheric, gently lit by sunlight and regret." Pete's debut album was certified RIAA gold as of April 24, 2002.

USA Today observed "The latest last great hope for the ailing singer/songwriter genre may vaguely resemble a young Springsteen ... .His insinuating melodies and lean ... driving graceful arrangements evoke R.E.M.'s early work. It's impossible to pigeonhole Yorn's music ... inspired quirkiness makes him, if not the future of rock 'n' roll, at least a promising new disciple."

Pete Yorn was born in New Jersey and, after graduating from Syracuse University, migrated to Los Angeles, where he began to attract a strong and loyal local following with his performances at Cafe Largo. In a major, break, the Farrelly Brothers used Yorn's "Strange Condition" and "Just Another" in the Jim Carrey film, "Me, Myself and Irene," for which Pete also composed the score. Pete's music has been included in a number of original motion picture soundtracks including "Orange County" (2001), "Spider-Man" (2002) and "Shrek 2" (2004). Yorn's songs have also appeared on MTV's "The Hills" and The CW's "One Tree Hill," among other television programs.

Pete Yorn has toured actively since the release of his first album, musicforthemorningafter, and has shared bills with the Foo Fighters, Semisonic, Coldplay, REM, and others. He was the headline artist on the inaugural MTV2 Handpicked Tour and played drums on a set of Stooges covers with Iggy Pop, Mike Watt, and the Hives' Mike Vigilante and Pelle Almqvist at the second annual Shortlist Prize for Artistic Achievement at Los Angeles' Henry Fonda Theater.

Pete Yorn's Live from New Jersey, a stunning full-length performance recorded at the Community Theater in Morristown, New Jersey, on October 29, 2003, was released in January 2004. Like Yorn's concerts themselves, his live album was a treasure trove for fans as well as an ideal introduction to the scope of Pete's music.
