Company Announces 2007 International Gold Reel Award Winners Honoring Outstanding International Box Office Performance

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Nielsen EDI, the worldwide leader in box office measurement and a service of The Nielsen Company, today announced the expansion of its global box office measurement service to include Japan and South Korea, the two largest box office markets in Asia. The Company also announced the list of 29 films to be honored with the 2007 International Gold Reel Award in recognition of extraordinary box office achievement outside of North America.

In 2006, Japan was the second largest box office market in the world, with revenues of $1.8 billion, while Korea was the sixth largest, with revenues of just over $1 billion.

Separately, each year Nielsen EDI awards the prestigious International Gold Reel Award to those films that have surpassed $100 million in the international marketplace outside of North America. This year, 29 films will be honored on Thursday, June 28, 2007 during the Closing Night Banquet at Cinema Expo International in Amsterdam.
