MoveOn Co-Sponsors Premieres of Michael Moore's New Film 'SiCKO'

Thousands to Flier for Affordable Health Care for All on Opening Weekend

Launch of Campaign to Highlight Health Care Crisis; Theme of 3rd Presidential

Virtual Town Hall

MoveOn.org Political Action will co-sponsor three premieres of Michael Moore's new film, "SiCKO," in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles on June 18th, 20th, and 26th, respectively. The documentary depicts the bleak state of America's health care system.

"SiCKO exposes how deeply our for-profit health care system is failing most Americans," said MoveOn.org Political Action Campaign Director, Noah T. Winer. "Our members are working to make sure the next president passes affordable health care for all," concluded Winer.

Starting on opening weekend, thousands of MoveOn members will distribute fliers outside theaters nationwide. The fliers will ask moviegoers to urge the presidential candidates to support health care for all and end the stranglehold of HMOs and for-profit insurance companies.

The premieres signal the start of MoveOn's campaign for affordable health care for all. Health care is the topic of MoveOn's third and final presidential "Virtual Town Hall," which will follow the second Virtual Town Hall on Climate to be held on July 7th.
