31-city North American Family Values Tour runs July 20th through September 2nd
NEW YORK, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Now in its 8th week out, "All Around Me," the third single by A&M/Octone recording group Flyleaf, is shaping up as their highest-charting song to date -- and is having a definite impact on sales of their self-titled RIAA gold debut album FLYLEAF. "All Around Me" is charting at -- Modern and Active (where it is spinning on a combined total of over 80 radio stations) and Mainstream Rock. In the process, it has sent the album back onto the Billboard 200 chart and revved up sales with a 15% increase this week over last week, for a total of 656,000 CDs sold.
Director Paul Fedor (Evanescence, Marilyn Manson, 30 Seconds to Mars) was tapped to shoot the video for "All Around Me," whose premiere date will be announced later this month.
This week, Flyleaf finishes up the second leg of their two-month headlining Justice & Mercy Tour. The tour features support bands Kill Hannah, Sick Puppies, and Resident Hero.
With no down time, Flyleaf will then be preparing for this summer's rigorous Family Values Tour -- with Korn, Evanescence, Atreyu, Hellyeah, Trivium, Neurosonic, Droid, and other bands. The 31-city North American itinerary opens July 20th at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights, Missouri, and wraps up at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, California, on September 2nd. (Please see tour dates below.)
Flyleaf -- vocalist/lyricist Lacey Mosley, guitarists Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann, bassist Pat Seals, and drummer James Culpepper -- have been on tour constantly honing their dynamic live performance, since the September 2005 release of their album (although they have been playing together since 2002). Three top-charted Rock singles later -- "I'm So Sick," "Fully Alive," and "All Around Me" -- they have amassed over 650,000 album sales.
Their fan club has more than 20,000 "Mob Members" signed up, and the Flyleaf site on MySpace has more than 390,000 friends. The site logs over 6,000 plays per day and boasts over 17 million plays to date. "Mob Member" perks (details at http://www.flyleafmusic.com/) include limited edition merchandise, exclusive online content, and the chance to meet Flyleaf in person at shows. The band has also partnered with World Vision to offer fans a limited edition four song EP (available exclusively at shows) and a specially designed t-shirt. All proceeds from the sales of both items go to benefit World Vision, which provides worldwide aid to those in need (http://www.worldvision.org/).
Among their biggest fans is FLYLEAF album producer Howard Benson (known for his work with Papa Roach, My Chemical Romance, POD and The All-American Rejects). Prior to "All Around Me," the videos for "I'm So Sick" and "Fully Alive" were directed by the Brothers Strause (whose credits include A Perfect Circle, Linkin Park, Godsmack, Staind, and others).
