Nickelodeon and m-Qube to Launch Nick Mobile Portal in October

Nick Mobile Portal to Offer Branded Wireless Ringtones, Wallpapers, and Text Messaging Services

NEW YORK, Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to extend its wireless business, Nickelodeon is partnering with Boston-based m-Qube to launch Nick Mobile this October, a mobile portal that offers kids and parents the opportunity to download ring tones, wallpapers, and text messaging services directly to their cell phones.

"The launch of the Nick Mobile online portal allows us to offer our audiences branded wireless content that extends the Nick experience to another screen, providing another opportunity to deepen their connection with their favorite characters," said Paul Jelinek, Vice President Business Development and E-Commerce Operations, Nickelodeon. "Wireless is becoming an increasingly important medium to reach our core demographic, and Nick Mobile allows us to expand our direct-to-consumer relationships with this audience. It's one more medium that allows us to be everywhere kids are."

Nick Mobile content will draw from some of Nickelodeon's most popular shows including SpongeBob SquarePants, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Dora the Explorer and The Fairly OddParents. It will also feature interactive content subscription packages that will enable consumers to receive daily text messaging alerts from popular Nickelodeon characters. The first text alert that will rollout is SpongeBob SquarePants' "Deep Sea Thoughts of the Day." Additional themed messaging services and games will rollout over the next few months.

"Companies continue to look to m-Qube as the premier enabler of mobile content delivery," said Andrew Miller, SVP and GM of Media at m-Qube. "With our superior scalability and ubiquitous platform extending across the major wireless carriers, we are the ideal candidate to support Nickelodeon's rapidly growing wireless business."

Nick Mobile is just one of Nickelodeon's many multiplatform offerings which include TurboNick, the network's online broadband video platform, its existing Video on Demand offerings on cable, and a range of branded wireless content including games, ring tones, wallpaper and video services.
