The Sorrento Cheese Feast of Little Italy Comes to Jupiter's Abacoa Town Center for a Second Year

JUPITER, Fla., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Residents of Palm Beach County can look forward to another fun-filled weekend of great Italian food and music at the Sorrento Cheese Feast of Little Italy to be held for a second consecutive year at Jupiter's Abacoa Town Center. This year's festival will be held on Friday, October 14th from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, October 15th from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, October 16th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The festival will open Friday afternoon with an official ribbon cutting taking place at 3:30 p.m. at the top of Town Center Drive and admission is FREE.

This year's featured headline entertainer, Frankie Avalon, is a pop culture icon whose career spans many generations of music, television, and motion pictures. Avalon is set to perform on Saturday night on the Sorrento Cheese Entertainment Stage from 8:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Avalon has a string of Gold Record Million-Seller singles and albums. Modern Hollywood, finds Frankie's 38 motion picture credits quite amazing. He played starring roles in the highly successful "Beach Party" film series. Frankie is also well known for his cameo role in the hit movie, "Grease," where he sang "Beauty School Dropout." This particular cameo was considered one of the memorable highlights of the movie, Grease. Avalon's career has taken him around the world, headlining in the finest hotels and he is currently one of the busiest performers in the country.

Other entertainers at this year's festival include: Johnny Contardo of Sha Na Na, and Grease fame is well known for his romantic ballads; Joey Dee & The Starliters known for hits like the Peppermint Twist and Sixteen Candles, and local talent, Franco Corso. You won't want to miss this year's entertainment line-up so festivalgoers are encouraged to arrive early to pick out a spot on the lawn in front of the Sorrento Cheese Entertainment Stage.

Additional festival activities include; the Sorrento Cheese La Cucina Italiana Cooking Stage featuring Chef Jeff of Mangrove Bay, expansions to the Bank of Atlantic children's area, the live children's entertainment taking place on the main stage on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and the Luna Di Luna Wine Tasting seminars will be held daily starting at 6 p.m. on Friday and Noon on both Saturday and Sunday.

Over 65 food vendors will line the streets of Abacoa's Town Center to showcase delicious culinary delights such as: calamari, chicken marsala, Italian pastries, lasagna, eggplant rollatini, meatballs, pasta dishes, rice balls, gelato and much more!
